Find the best trampolines for backyard fun.

Trampolines range from 8ft mini models (200-300 lbs) for toddlers to 15-16ft family sizes (1000-1500 lbs). A 12ft trampoline suits 2-3 kids simultaneously, while 15ft models accommodate teens and adults. Always add 20% buffer to manufacturer weight limits for safety—if three kids totaling 250 lbs will use it, buy a 300+ lb capacity model.
Look for enclosures with poles outside the jumping surface (not inside where kids can hit them) and net attachments at each spring rather than just the top ring. UV-resistant netting (PE or polyethylene mesh) lasts 3-5 years versus 1-2 for cheaper materials. Zipper and buckle closures prevent accidental openings better than velcro alone.
Galvanized steel frames with 1.5mm+ wall thickness resist rust and bending. Premium models use 72-96 galvanized springs (5-8.5" long)—more springs distribute weight better than fewer heavy-duty ones. T-sockets connecting legs to the frame are sturdier than welded joints, which can crack after 2-3 seasons of temperature changes.
Safety pads should be 0.75-1" thick EPE foam covering all springs and frame, extending 12" beyond the edge. Essential add-ons include ground anchors (4-8 stakes for wind resistance up to 40mph), a 3-step ladder for safe entry, and a weather cover to double mat lifespan to 6-8 years.
